Coffee is a universal ritual, a shared language among people. Every country with its own dialect: breakfast, mid-morning, after lunch, every region has its own particular way of drinking it.
The name Volentieri is the particular Italian expression for the kind of ‘yes’ you say when you do something gladly. A coffee invitation is always followed by the answer volentieri.
The Volentieri cups were born from a need to bring character and beauty to this tradition/ritual/ceremony. Their making is a compromise between industrial and hand crafted production. They were molded using a casting slip technique on plaster molds, a sort of ‘micro mass production’. The finishing touches were purely artisanal, every piece was painted and glazed by hand, taking care to maintain the quality from first to last.
The Volentieri cups are made for Ristretto and Espresso. Each set contains 4 cups.
